Here are some rare finds from the early 1960s. A lovely rerecording of Young Love for RCA, a vocal of the instrumental Apache...

1) Young Love - 1961 Groove single. Didn't chart but received some airplay.
2) On the Longest Day - 1963 Dot single, after the 1962 film "The Longest Day". Written by Sonny (as James Loden) and C.Smith.
3) Apache - 1961 RCA single. Music by Jerry Lordan, words by Flamingo. Charted Pop #87, didn't chart Country. Does anyone know who Flamingo was - maybe an Indian woman?

Sonny's first phase was with Capitol from 1953 to 1960. Then he tried the NRC label in 1960. In 1961-1962 it was
RCA and its Groove subsidiary. 1962-63 it was Dot, until he returned to Capitol for his greatest glory. Real fans wouldn't want to miss the good stuff that wasn't big hits.
