I have done some pruning on this tree since the last video so there was actually quite a bit more growth than this. I trimmed out all inward facing twigs. On a few of the scions I actually trimmed down to the lowest outward facing twig to promote a better shape. Overall this tree is doing very well. The scions on one variety are more vigorous. Summer pruning will likely be necessary to keep them in check.

There is a bit of concern that the old tree isn't taking up enough nutrients to properly grow. The leaves have been turning red. I sprayed a little water soluble fertilizer on the leaves and things got better. Next year this tree will get a good dose of 10-10-10. Can't fertilize any more this year or it may not harden off properly for winter.
