I was wondering if it's possible for this condition to develop later in a cats life? My cat turnip is going on 6 months old; and she has began to show simular traits. The vets were baffled when i brought her in, because she's not sick. She's healthy and she's eating and drinking fine it's just her balance, co-ordination and random twitching that she never did before.

Cerebellar Hypoplasia is basically a birth injury (from everything I have read about it). I hope the vets find out what is wrong with your cat Turnip!

My sweetie and I have a cat with CH. Even the vet told us that her life expectancy would be short. Guess she didn't even know what she had because she "Twitch" is exactly like Charlie. And still very much alive, very loving and one of the best cats we've ever had. She is now about 6. Question, what do you do for a litter for Charlie. Twitch can't seem to make it in the litter so we use chunks of disposable carpet.

Charley has been fine with the litter box. He does have one brand he prefers though, if we change brands he will protest. It's Scoop-Away multi-cat litter. I tried more organic ones, but Charley would have none of it. He also does not like litter boxes with the lids on, but the litter box must have high sides so he can lean. So basically when he has an open air, high sided litter box with Scoop Away litter inside, he's a champ. Hope this helps. Jo

If you have any questions about how to "CH" proof your home, please let me know. We are working on a video to help people with this concept, but it's not done yet. Let me know if you have any questions I am happy to help.

I adopted my cat 6 yrs ago when he was just 6weeks old. He has this condition and has been the best and most amazing cat I have ever had. He can do anything any other cat can do just does it a bit diffrent. A year ago my 4 yr old found another cat just like him and now we have 2 cats. Her Malibu and my Soco. LoVE them.

I have a cat with CH and I LOVE her! Her sister is normal, like a monkey in a cat suit, but Sugar is the most loving, cuddly, precious, funny and happy cat I've ever had. She curls up in my arm pit every night. If I'm horizontal she's in my face wanting to be kissed, petted and held. Both cats are amazing. They're both half Siamese so they're very chatty. I think CH cats are fantastic! Great video!

Our 11-year-old cat-with-CH Kramer died last night--something natural and peaceful. Yes, cats with CH can live long, normal lives. He slept at my feet--we fought over space nightly (and he always won, of course)--and I miss the ol' guy, a Maine Coon, quirky as he and our relationship were. Run wild now, Kramer. Go with the wind. And know no one will ever keep my feet and toes warm like you liked to.

He's so adorable god bless him. I work at a shelter and we have two kitties whom are brothers who have cerebellar hypoplasia and they're the two sweetest things.

We have two CH cats. They are three and a half years old now. They are wonderful pets. Cicero, the one with the most severe CH (he's not like Charlie. He can barely walk), is on my lap now, watching Charlie, and tapping on the screen. They are loving, playful and healthy. <3
