The famine really devastated us... it's disgusting that the only memories of it today are brought up in jokes or insults... mocking us about what happened to our people. People don't seem to realize that that's like mocking jews about the holocaust, while not as many people died, it still took half of the population from their homes. I will not pretend to understand the famine, it happened long before my time. But I WILL honor my ancestors who endured such hardship.
