How clever was it for the producers to place a man suffering from alcoholism in a dressing room stocked with booze prior to his interview?...which is what happened here. It was a shameful way to set this man up knowing about his addiction.
First of all, it's not funny. Alcoholism isn't funny. It's a nightmare for the alcoholic, who sometimes pretends it's funny, to disarm criticism. Ask an alcoholic's partner. Poor George: he couldn't get honest enough to admit the true nature of his illness until it was too late. His ego got in the way, and it killed him. R.I.P.
