Google Docs in Plain English

omg im bored so i watch the vids to google! O.O!

Google docs is great for editing on partner projects and meshing seperate documents into one document.

Cons: It's not microsoft Office so it's much harder to things you want with much less you can do.
Currently only does Spreadsheets, Word Documents and Power Points, -- I want to be able to share documents -- not necessarily be able to edit them on google but atleast be able to import to have a "home" for other types of program files

and? It's not a fx show, just funny presentation of possibilities google is givin' to you. And those are real, I', using GD as a student whenever I have some group work to do. Sorry for my english...

can this be used as a budget replacement for Word?

Sure it can. Though you might want to look into OpenOffice if you really want to totally replace it. There is some functionality from Microsoft Office that doesn't exist in google docs, whereas OpenOffice is a more full fledged replacement
