Back in the Roman era, Mithraism was perhaps Christianity's leading competitor for the hearts and minds of others. Today Mithraism is religiously a non-factor, but with modern Archaeological discoveries it still "competes" with Christianity, in another way: It is a leading candidate for the "pagan copycat" as a supposed source for Christianity. The real Surprise comes after you take out the Mithraist similarities from Christianity resulting in the Shocking Truth..!

The idea of Jesus as part of a trinity was a Greek PAGAN concept adopted by early Christian missionaries to gain converts among the Greeks, and did not become a widely accepted Christian doctrine until after the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D.

In 325 AD at the Nicean Council, under Constantine, Jesus received divine Godly status as the son of God. Constantine declared all original Christians and Bishops who felt he had gone too far and did not follow his brand of christianity, as heretics. He sadly started the first persecution and destruction of the Authentic Bibles that didn't agree with his new Mithraist version of Christianity. They carefully filtered specific writings that agreed with their beliefs compiled them to form the New Testament which Christians still use today and thus THE DOCTRINE OF TRINITY WAS BORN, They ADDED THE FOLLOWING:
1. The Trinity,
2. The divine Sonship of Jesus (pbuh),
3. The original sin, and
4. The death of "the Son of God" on the cross in atonement for the original sin of Adam.

MUCH OF THE DOCTRINE OF CHRISTIANITY IS BASED ON PAUL'S LETTERS. PAUL WAS THE FIRST TO CALL JESUS SON OF GOD.

JESUS HIMSELF NEVER CLAIMED TO BE GOD OR SON OF GOD!!!

Before the ROMAN MITHRAIST inforced their doctrine through the Council of Nicea in 325 AD, JESUS WAS KNOWN AS A PROPHET SENT BY GOD, BY THE EARLY CHRISTIANS IN JERUSALEM. The Bible still holds many clues of this which were not omitted when the Bible was compiled in the 3rd Century.

'People at the time of Jesus believed that he was a Prophet'.-Matt 21:45

'About Jesus of Nazareth, He was a Prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people.-Luke 24:19

Jesus said ,only among his relatives and in his own house is a prophet without honourMark 6:4

The concept of Oneness of God was stressed by Moses (pbuh) in the Biblical passage Known as the "Shema," or the Jewish creed of faith:

"Hear, O Israel The Lord our God is one Lord"

Deuteronomy 6:4

It was repeated word-for-word approximately 1500 years later by Jesus (pbuh) when he said

"...The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; the Lord our God is one Lord."

Mark 12:29

Muhammad (pbuh) came along approximately 600 years later, bringing the same message again:

"And your God is One God: there is no god but He"

The Gospal ( New Testament) came over a Thousand years after the Torah ( Law of Moses). Just because the Gospal was sent Generations later it does not make it false and not from God. In the same way the Quran came later to another generation in time to reaffirm the Teachings of Moses in the Torah and Jesus in the Gospal.
No where in the Torah or the Bible does it state that God had ceased revelation with mankind. On the contrary revelation continued even after Jesus through his disciples till finally it was completed with his final Prophet Muhammed by revelation sent by Arch angel Gabriel.

This is my thing why does everyone base Christianity off of Catholics when everyone can see they are totally wrong! They are not the truth and why does everyone feel that muslims are more relevant than these false chrisitans? One did not Muhammed say that he felt he was possed with demons?! So why follow a man who was belligerent and who question the state of his own mental stability? I believe in God and Jesus. I believe in the Bible. It is the truth!

yes, that is a good point. I lost all my faith in the Catholic religion when i studied where it truly came from. And i did about close to a year of study into the LDS faith before i joined, and i still study and learn and question. As opposed to my catholic life where i was told to stop questioning but now i am encourged to question things, cause every claim made against the church, can be disproved lol. Anyway, what you described is how i feel in the church, enlightenment and love :)

you know, i always used to think leaving the christian flock of sheep was asking for trouble, but it turned out to be the strength, peace & comfort that i needed, the answers to my real questions, the freedom to simply love, without all the twisted ideas about heaven & hell.
