Suffer in Silence by the frames as gaeilge. This is a beautiful and haunting song. That I think sounds even better in the irish language.

This is the same Glen Hansard that won an oscar with Markéta Irglová

  • Is Glen not from Clondalkin? I thought he was from Ballymun untill I heard on Phantom fm that he was form the Dalkin so now im confused. :D

  • Níl , is as baile Munna é gan dabht. Chuaigh sé go holy Spiirt BNS agus Ballymun Comp.

  • Is breá liom an amhrán suaimhneach meabhrach seo ach is trua faoin fhíseán.

  • tá brón orm mo chara.

  • well was it a gaelscoil?

  • No way man. The fella who si up for murdering the taxi driver in Blanchardstown went there, as well as a few other "famous people". You'll be hard pressed to find a tougher primary school in Ireland. 400 pupils, all boys, slap bang in the middle of Ballymun.

  • For some reason, this is the sexiest thing I've ever heard.

  • Ceapaim go bhfuil an amhrán seo go h-álainn. An bhfuil gaeilge aige mar a chéad theanga nó cad?

  • Níl an amhrán seo ró dheacair a thuiscint...

  • You irish guys actually speak that language and understand it ??? D: Thats unfair , Bahh I dont understand a word in this version D:

  • He is from Ballymun, moved to Killester as far as im aware

  • is maith liom é agus sílim go bhfuil an ghaeilge ag gceart. Tuigim é agus ni raibh a fhios agam nach bhfuil se abalta gaeilge a labhairt.

an bhfaca duine ar bith an scannan 'Once' le glen agus marketa irglova?

  • i am from ireland..and i do speak irish and i tink he sounds fairly gud...it very difficult to write songs as gaeilge

  • Lol, even though I'm not Irish it's sort of obvious

    but that's cute!

  • No he doesn't speak irish, he said so himself at one of his concerts i went to :)

  • Does he naturally speak Gaelic or is he just singing to lyrics? Because he sounds like he has a terrible accent but then again, I don't know much about this language so maybe it's supposed to sound like that
