No, its nothing like Photoshop. Photoshop is not an asset management system, it doesnt do meta tags, doesnt have collections, doesnt do slideshows or web gallerys. Lightroom doesnt do pixel level editing, doesnt have layers. So Lightroom is an image processor, Photoshop is an image editor. There is a distinct difference.

lightroom does has layers, they just get done automatically everytime you change something.
