Katrina did for Bush but this disaster has roots two or three centuries in the making... Detroit's destroyed residential neighbourhoods too: an economic hurricane as bad as Katrina that demoralised and killed people and wrecked property, not overnight, but in slow motion. The ideologists behind indifference to the poor, worked just 285 miles away from Motown in Chacago University. They are out of ideas. Obama has a job to do and knows what it is.
