You're just flat out WRONG. Hendrix knew Gibbons pretty well -- Gibbons' band The Moving Sidewalks was the opening act on a Hendrix tour, and Jimi later said on national TV that Billy was one of the best young guitarists in the country.
Don't believe me? Check out the Billy Gibbons page on Wikipedia. Or do a simple Google image search for "hendrix gibbons" and you'll see pictures of them together. Next time do your homework before you call bullshit.

Great video. I'm Vegas, baby. I'll be there in July rockin' the town. Viva Las Vegas I will soon learn & record. I sing and play bass guitar at the same time. I will rock this song just like I rocked the other Elvis songs I've done. I'm a one-man band. It will be my 11th Elvis song. I already did 9. I was born to rock. I plan on doing at least 53 Elvis songs. I move & have a whole lotta fun when I play Elvis songs. I TCB real good. Take care.

Face it man, the sell-out ZZ top in this video has nothing to do with the early to mid-period (pre-Eliminator) ZZ top & even less with the Billy Gibbons Hendrix was praising in "Moving Sidewalks." Hendrix also praised Chicago Transit Authority & Terry Kath but at the time Chicago was a progressive jazz-rock outfit, not a sell-out singles band.He liked Rory Galagher, Johnny Winter, jazz guys like Larry Coryell & John McLaughlin. He also thought King Crimson was the greatest band he'd ever seen
