Wow...

I was born 1990, so I saw early 90s Sesame Street... I never saw this...

WOW- that's depressing, and you jsut tell all those actors... it's not just a scene, they're giving that guy a eulogy while on-screen in front of millions...

That must've been one of the hardest scenes for kids to wath and the actors to do... WOW...

You can tell that Big Bird and Maria have a special relashionship. Poor Bob was fighting back tears.

When Carrol Spinney (Big Bird) took off the head after the take, he was actually crying. Him & Will Lee were very good friends. He actually drew all the portraits himself, too. This is my all-time favorite episode.

I was 4 when i first saw this... Sesame Street was my favourite show and the loss of Mr. Hooper did introduce death in a gentle and thoughtful way. I'm sure my parents were glad!

I wasn't born either until 1990 but looking back it's one of the saddest shows i've ever seen. Even though its a kids show, no other show can portray a death like this. So quick, sad realistic and sudden. I think, had i seen this, dealing with my grandparents death would have been slightly easier. Knowing that we can still look back on the happy memories that we shared.

I was about 6 years old at the time, so don't remember too much, but I definitely remember this part. So sad :(

When susan said "when people die they don't come back", and he said "ever"? it just hit a nerve. I'm in a relationship with Christ, so we are supposed to be hopeful when someone passes... but I still feel like Big Bird sometimes when someone dies, even at 40 years old. who would have thought that a childrens show would give us such brilliant and realistic television..

I wasn't born yet in 1983 (I was born in 1991), but I still find this to be VERY sad. It probably one of the saddest moments in a TV show I have ever seen.
