Self build motorhome project. This is a Renault Master Short wheel Base van, but the principals can be applied to any van.

Yes, in the UK, it's much much much cheaper than buying a proper motorhome - not sure about the US or other parts of the world though.

    Great Van

The bathroom looks extremely small though- can you stand in the shower?

only if you are below 5ft 4in ! otherwise you have to lurch a bit - I'm 6ft 1, but still manage to shower successfully without any major issues.

Always carry a batten of wood when you are in the shower, just in case you need it!!! :)

In the US you can buy a pretty solid, good running RV for around $3k... It will be older, but I've even seen good running ones, needing cleaning, and weather sealing go for around $500.. I like the idea of converting a van or stepvan because you can make the van entirely how you like it, plus you can attain a higher level of stealth if you like..

You hath further inspired me w/ my van as well. I have a 1992 Toyota Previa all wheel drive that one would find simply beeping when finished ! ! ! The galley take direction from you in the underpinnings whilst I use 1X1s & 2.7 mm. plywood. Though I have removed switches , controls , other such things that had weight serving no real purpose in a camper van .

    Hi.

Shower water comes from a seperate 25L plastic jerry container you take into the shower with you (pump motor drops into the tank - big on-off switch on the shower wall.)

All water is heated by the kettle only.

The shower has its own drain system leading into the grey water tanks.

Toilet is very clean and has no smell issues.

Might have lost a couple of MPG with the extra weight, but nothing major.

Glad you like the vids :o)
