1974 and 1977 Raiders were teams that could beat quite a few Super Bowl champs more often than not IMO. also 1976 Raiders were the greatest team ever

As a life long Pats fan (ain't goin' there, no worries), let me say that when I first saw Ray Guy kick a ball (i was 12 when he was drafted), I went down to the ball field and must have kicked the ball a hundred times trying to kick it into orbit. And then there was Fred Biletnikoff. Watching him regularly catch those sideline passes was a thing of beauty.

Every year the Pats never went anywhere, I ended up rooting for Oakland...

In the 1977 playoff championship game against Denver, the raiders got hosed by the officials on the Lytle fumble that wasn't called. Oakland against Dallas would have been quite an interesting SuperBowl, with Stabler going against Staubach, Madden vs Landry.

It did occur, I believe in 1980 with White/Martin vs. Upshaw/Shell. However, I don't think Randy White was with Dallas in 1974. He was a rookie in 1975. I still would love to have seen an Oakland-Dallas Super Bowl, not only because they were two great teams, but also the way the game could have been sold by contrasting the two personalities of the teams.
