It's less that I think you are slamming her, and more that there's solid evidence you are wrong. I do have a degree in music, but it doesn't matter. Like I said, Heart does, COY, Barracuda, Straight On, and Magic Man all in their original keys at their original tempos. Why would they choose Alone as the one song she can't do at the original tempo (and yet keep the same key). Alone hasn't been done plugged in since 1990, purely as an artistic choice.

I'm sorry U disagree w/ me, & my comments weren't meant to slam Ann at all.  I think she's utterly amazing vocally, & have always thought she was one of the best, if not THE BEST of all female singers of past several decades. So, no slam intended, but just true. I'm not a musical expert, but I've enough family involved in music & one w/ a degree in music, etc, & they agree w/ me. The tempo was slowed & all you have to do is really listen & notice adjustments made to accomodate. End of story.

That's just ridiculous. If Ann has time to 'get air' during Barracuda or Crazy on You--which are both done nightly at their original tempos--she can with this as well. They just decided that they didn't like the overbloated sound of the 80's version.

Anyone who knows anything about music, & musicians, as they age, etc.. knows that they have to do "new, slowed down arrangements" just to even get enough air to attempt to get power & sound out on big songs like this one. Ann struggled big time in this version of her POWER song of the '80's. SOME of her later live versions of this aren't bad considering her age, etc.. but never the same...but, this is why you will never hear her sing it again at the normal tempo. Not enough time to get air!

Cool, thanks for posting this! I was at the concert as well, it was awesome. I think she struggled to sing this song; she's getting older! I'm not a fan of the slowed down arrangement thought, it's much too slow and boring. They need to break out the electric guitars and drums for this one!
