The cover of the album is original artwork entitled "Semen and Blood III." It is one of three photographic studies by Andres Serrano created in 1990 by mingling the artist's own semen and bovine blood between two sheets of Plexiglas.[5] The liner notes simply state "Cover art by Andres Serrano" rather than listing the actual title of the work.

were did u guys find out that the cover was blood and sperm cuz i think thats kinda bullshit, if anything its fake sperm and fake blood or sperm with just some color effects but real blood and real sperm isnt really metallica
