I love Merle and I love this song. I like Jerry Garcia's version of this tune better though. I think it works better at a slower tempo.

Dona:This is my favorite Merle Haggard song of all and he has never had a song that I didn't like. Merle Haggard truly is one of the best country music artists there has ever been or ever will be! I saw him in concert last year in Rocky Mount,NC and he still sounds as good as ever! When he sang "Sing Me Back Home" he received a standing ovation and man was it much deserved!! As all country music fans know, there will never be another Merle Haggard. What a country music legend!!!

yeah man i'm with ya. this is one of my favourite songs of all time and if it wasn't for george jones i would say that merle is my favourite country artist.
