what if I'm keen on classical music and recognize the tune and start to imagine and follow the music score in my mind? I'm a musician and have never been able to concentrate on anything else while my ears perceive musical notes.

You're right to question this old drivel. It's not a good way to teach and learn. (De)Suggestopedia is an important development in second language learning; it recognized the value of affective domain in language learning. That's what the music is about. Some classes still play classical music, which tends to lower anxiety, but can be a huge distraction for music fans like yourself.

kazuo62, you are the one spouting old drivel. In a few short sentences you show that you have no idea at all about this method or the role of music in it. I suggest you start with Colin Rose's book "accelerated Learning". Not meaning to slag you off; if you were interested enough to watch this and comment, so you would profit I am sure from knowing a little more about it.
