i couln't get to sleep a few nights ago trying to think of this theme tune, i used to watch it when i was supposed to be asleep on school nights! prisoner was the best ever and this song brings it all back. fantastic!

I wish I could have rediscovered this video sooner. I will always remember this beautiful song! I remember it better than the series which was televised here in the U.S. in the early 80s.

this song brings back so many good memories of going to bed on school nights and watching cell block H on ITV at 11:30pm

@dootson808 I totally remember going to bed late on those nights because I definitely wanted to hear this song at the end. They didn't have dvr back then!

Yeah, I watched this show in the UK as a kid... Thought it was one of the best programmes ever. I still do. The acting and scenery may be dated but the storylines are still as fantastic as they were back then. Happy memories. :-)

to ChrisJames976-- you mentioned watching the show in the u.k. - here in the u.s.a., i don't hear the term "u.k." or  "united kingdom" being used much. i'm not sure whether most people here would know those terms. when i was a kid, i read a book and found the term "u.k", and i asked my parents what it meant, and they said that they didn't know, and so i looked it up in a dictionary. although my forefathers were english and scottish, we have lived in the new world for about 300 years or so.
