Fabulous, underrated Joe Brown (pink shirt) on acoustic guitar! Met him once, absolute gent. He was a star before the Beatles and like George never forgot his roots. He still tours, and it's obvious he still loves it!
George is playing a six string tenor ukulele (first and third string are doubled) known as the "lili'U" made by Kamkaka, an old Hawaiian family run company making quality ukuleles (I am not an employee or relative. I do own one, however.)
jbdoggy is correct. George covered the song. The music was written by Harold Arlen with lyrics by Ted Koehler, for a musical called Rhyth-mania at The Cotton Club in 1931. Cab Calloway and his orchhestra performed it. Was at The Concert for Banla-desh in 1971. Always loved George.
