parrislee's fascination with this group is directly proportional to the woman singer's "body rhythm" and I know you get what I'm saying - lol

Well, mountainmanjm, I consider anything creating a rhythm and harmony to be musical. I am a musician and quite frankly the origin of washboard instrumentation is not lost on me.

Taping my foot is making music. Clapping my hands is making music. Throat singing is music. If it creates a sound then there is a pretty good chance that it is music, in my humble opinion.

Granted you may not personally like it, but I don't think that is relevant to the discussion. The dictionary defines music as an art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and color.

So if you don't want to consider the mouth or a washboard an instrument then I suppose we respectfully have nothing further to discuss and I would hope that you aren't a music teach or in charge of any art committees in your area.

my, aren't you the special one..? I think you overthought the washboard comment tainted by your own prejudice.
