Well it is on the same lines of the novel by him but it is quite different the only similarity is the structure. Also the ends are different in Man woman and child the kid goes away. Irrespective of watever it is the best execution of the same plot and lets not ignore it. Majority movies are based on some novel or play.

It is an old movie - difficult to get video with subtitle but good luck. Hope, someday people develop a software that automatically adds subtitles
