Sorry about the quality, I didn't use a tripod so it's a bit shaky. A simple conversion this one(unlike Dave) due to the tender drive and a metal chassis. I fitted a resistor to the motor which slowed it down but still allowed full power to the smoke unit - so lots of smoke! Enjoy :-)

Hi marbles & Son, thanks for the comment. Most tender locos are easy to add a smoke unit to, but the old Hornby 'tender drive' ones are the easiest. Hunt round for an old, used, Hornby (for about £25) and convert that using a Seuthe 100 unit available from Gaugemaster. It's fun and the effect is wonderful! All the best Tom
Great idea Steve. I'd suggest some sort of forced draught (e.g. a fan) to make the smoke look like a real exhaust from a diesel, otherwise it'll just 'puff' out. :-)
