You have to eat this indoors, so you get used to the stink. Because if you do, it will taste delicious.

You just should open it under water, so it won't explode (becouse of the gas and pressure) and it would probaply help to the smell too. :3 I haven't tried though, haven't even seen surströmming but I would like to.. opening surströmming pack is just one of those things you gotta try once in your life.

I don't want to get into a food fight with swedes. :D

it stinks; but u know its from a can full of gas. If left out for a little while the odour dissipates - if served with other things it takes the impact away.
But u you know - its is simply shit, i have eaten alot of crap inc scorpions but its for a joke - you can eat this shit but u cannot possibly enjoy it without lying. But then again a lot of swedes get drunk - I suppose that helps
