The chest is very engaged at the start of the press. Most powerlifters don't like to admit it, but it has been proven in studies. Ideal situation would be less involvement from the chest, and more from the lats, etc., but it isn't so.

It also depends on technique and stuff, and your strength and size of your other muscles, but chest is very active during benching.
That's probably why when people start lifting, their chest is one of the first things to get big.

You don't want your front delts to take much of the load. Your rear delts should take the load as far as your shoulders go.

Lats play a large part if you do it right its chest shoulder triceps lats and the way i do it on my tipy toes i feel it in my front quads and lower back in the press part
