Out on a limb over language

Doesn't it seem like the translation is incorrect during the segment on Poss-NP constructions (@01:45)? To me, I would think Everett is actually saying "Koxoi's child's spouse's dog", seeming he is also pointing at the figurines in that specific order... The Pirahã man would then drop not only one but TWO NPs from the original structure.

So they haven't fully developed their language through interactions with others. Why do people want to make it seem like they have the answer to the universe???

The definition of history has two basic elements: the mankind and the time.They do not have history only if you consider they are not humans or tha the time for them do not exist.Either way, you would be wrong.

Noam Chomsky(influential linguist) said that language is an inate feature among all people. He stated that all human languages share common features such as syntax and recursion. This is known as the Nativist view of language.The fact that the Piraha people have no concept of recursiona and seem unable to grasp it goes against his conclusions. Theres loads of literature available on all this , but even WIkipedia is helpful for a broad overview on the topics....Hope that helps..
