I've lived in Baltimore all my life (16 years, but still) and I've never seen the Wire, or wanted to. But apparently Charlie Brooker and Graham Linehan like it. So there we are, box set it will be. I'm about to watch American television. Maybe my Charlie Brooker obsession has gone too far?
When HBO get it right, they really get it right. Mad props to Charlie Brooker and the coverage on The Culture Show as well, for letting me into this great little hidden gem.
Yeah!!! and for that matter why is everyone in the wire American? This doesn't make any sense, English people in english shows. Americans in American shows, I WANT ANSWERS!!!!!
because its a show made for british TV to persuade british people to watch an american show thats not insultingly juvenile or about cops being cops beating up black bad guys selectively. So there.

And don't get me started on the amount of 'British' characters in Hollywood films that are Americans with a fake dialect. You probably think there's such a think as the 'British accent' anyway, I don't know why I'm bothering with you.
