The Guitar players a lovey flatpicker but when he's accompaning he should stop chord banging. Nothing worse in Irish trad than a chord banging guitar player, dying to be heard. a simple gentle rythym played nice and steady works far better
i just read lower down and spotted the 8th string? peg on the side of the neck , its a 5 string with extras... no wonder it sounds so good i can still dislike 6 string banjos... phew...
12/10 I have just been converted, i have always hated the brash loud jangle from 6 string banjo.( i think i also dislike how ppl pick them up and imidiately think they are a banjo player and strum dueling banjos) THAT is how i 8/6 string banjo should be played,to sound like a tenor banjo , NOT strummed like a guitar.... are you listening ppl? I especialy like the pinched chords, making it sound like 5 string backup.nice crossover style. great stuff
