This is video of an ASUS N10J-A1 playing back a 1080P H264/x264 MKV, stutter & jitter free due to the fact that the H264 1080P stream is being fully offloaded to the on-board discrete nVidia GeForce 9300M GS which has full PureVideo HD support.
Required items:
* Microsoft Vista for EVR (Enhanced Video Renderer) support. * PowerDVD 8 DirectShow filter for H264/AVC codec. * MPC-HC (Media Player Classic - Home Cinema). * Custom EVR external DirectShow graph to load the PowerDVD 8 H264/AVC codec. * MKV Haali Media Splitter.
Video also demonstrates that I can still perform simple tasks while the video is playing. Also, but not shown, you can activate the HDMI port on the ASUS N10J and hook it up to an external device (e.g. HDTV LCD set or an AVR) with HDMI audio passthrough (AC3/DTS) and watch a movie on the external HDMI display and still do normal computing tasks in Vista on the 10.2" 1024x600 screen.

i have just reformatted my n10j with xp pro, everything runs perfect but HD video playback since it does not play smooth.
by the way before reformatting it and installing xp, i had VISTA business installed on and i tested hd playback there, no problem.
is it a XP issue that does not enable something?? video im trying it's a true hd i have personally encoded from my hd video cam, and plays perfectly on same setup and my studio quad core computer.
actually if you use windows vista, it works much better.. for XP, you gotta use the nvidia AND the windows media player classic w/ klite mega codec pack installed, that way im able to play them, NOT with windows media player since tha tone uses massively the CPU and the atom is not enough.
hmmm...but i heard there was problem of slow starting & shutting down of vista on N10J, that the manufacturer decided to swap vista biz for xp home, like mine...anyway, thx Gabrio ;)
hi, thanks for ur recommendation, my N10J can play HD video with the klite mega codec! But not really dat smooth, tell u a good news, i made some research & found that KMPlayer actually has got nPure HD support, & this one really plays HD smooth on my n10j, thx anyway ;D
