@cndlpwr First you try to be philosophical ... and then just crap. Nikons are no great. Canons and Nikons are equal competitors. Think is ppl are too scared to look beyond them. I don't agree to you comment that Canons are buggy; comm'on Nikon suck their customers blood even at entry level DSLR range. All of their cameras in that range are overpriced than their competitors and give less features (and they are not pioneers in introducing good things at that range too)

@cndlpwr What about Hasselblad? Leica image quality is better than Canonikons ..

the ken rockwell joke has me laughing so hard.

Oh man this is awesome lol

"Makes me wonder why the hell I went digital instead of stick to film, like Stalin!"
Genius.

Nokia also does have Carl Zeiss lenses at the phones. =D

I own a d3x and have to say its overpriced. I think dslr image quality will always be limited as long as a 35mm sensor is used. Medium format lens choice is very limited if you want to tilt and shift, and the price is prohibitive. I`m going to large format film when I can - the image quality is as good as ANY camera, and the tilt shift adjustments are first rate

Its hard to quantify what the d3x is worth. Its not worth the current price, for sure, but then again the next step up is medium format, which is at least double the $.
Throw some decent glass on a d3x and you can't go far wrong. After hearing bad things about 1/3 of nikon glass lloyd chambers receives, my future lenses will be Zeiss and Leicas

"He shoots jpeg" HAHAHA
I work for a nikon agent and I totally agree if I didnt get a staff discount I wouldnt bother buying nikon its way to overpriced compared to the other brands

@kutzicotl As Hitler has just demonstrated, the D3X is indeed overpriced. But do you remember when the DSLR megapixel leader was Canon and THAT body was priced over $7,000? As to the rest of the line, no, it's not even close to overpriced. And no fair comparing pro grade cameras from Nikon to the new kids on the block like Sony. Nikon and Canon's prices run head to head in almost all areas, and they're really the only two that make TRULY professional DSLRs. Sometimes you get what you pay for!

Canon owns Nikon, don't kid yourselves.

@TheMeloFelo Actually they are two distinct companies, one does not own the other. I don't know what you're smoking. Oh do you mean that Canon makes a vastly superior product? Not even close pal, not even close. Unless you consider beta testing your cameras on the buying public and fixing problems after months of complaints from all across the globe, then yes, they are better. They make a damn fine printer though!
