Of course you leave out verse 9, "But beloved we are convinced of better things concerning you, and things that accompany salvation, THOUGH WE ARE SPEAKING THIS WAY." IT'S ALWAYS A CONTRAST, "AND SUCH WERE SOME OF YOU.." THE PROBLEM IS THAT YOU SEE THE SINNER THE SAME AS A CHRISTIAN !

You totally delete the word foreknow right out of the scripture.
Rom 8:29 For whom he did FOREKNOW, he also did predestinate,called, justified, glorified.

1Pe 1:2 Elect according to the FOREKNOWLEDGE of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto OBEDIENCE (an act of the will) and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ

kcannon, I once thought that way also. Thankfully, after thoroughly studying the Doctrines of Grace via gtydotorg (where you may listen to them freely) do follow along with your Bible as I did and see for yourself. But humble yourself and at least admit you could be wrong.The outcome of knowing and embracing truth is both humbling and fills ones heart with praise and thanksgiving to our wonderful Redeemer.
