Everyone is MISSING THE POINT of the GTR. The GTR and Veyron have one thing in common for their brutal acceleration. THE GEARBOX. If GTR and Veyron had single clutch gearbox, those heavy cars would suck suck suck on acceleration! Not turbos, Superchargers, ect. Gearbox. Take the automatic out and an R8 would beat the GTR

@xabipp it also costs twice the price and is made of plastic...can be a LITTLE quicker on the track but as a everyday car it will suck doing very low MPG and just not a good car to manage in the streets to go out/work or w/e....1 step at the gas and will accelerate too much which sucks at city and as i already said, its MPG suck.

LOL my friend bought a modified 2003 z06 with a 6.3L engine and twin turbos putting down 700hp to the tires and it gets 20hwy 15 city and the zr1 has only got a super charger and a 6.2L so think about the fuel economy on that, btw the zr1 has magnetic ride control suspension

the corvette is all about muscle it started out as a muscle car and thats pretty much wat it still is, i would take a ZR1 before a gtr, the gtr is almost more about technology, screw awd i don't want the car to basically drive its self, i would rather start drifting and sliding all over its more fun :) gtr beats the zr1 off the line which will be most stop light races to the next light, but given room the zr1 will blow by the gtr,,

The corvette is a sports car, not a muscle car since the introduction of the C4 Corvettes. They have supercar handling for much less than a supercar price except the Zr1 which is a supercar but still relatively cheap.
