Hinduism: Rat worship in India

The Government of India should be responsible for the Dalits or the untouchables not the Hindu religion. The " untouchables" is not based on Karma. Get your facts straight, please do not create a story to promote Christianity.

Rat is depicted with the idols of Lord Ganesha bcoz he is Vignharta (destroyer of Obstacles) and rat (symbol of obstacle) is depicted below him as being subdued.... the puranic story tells the tale of a Rat demon who was ruining human life and was finally destroyed by the Lord Ganesha and enslaved.

Message is: Since Lord Ganesha is Lord of Buddhi (Intelligence), one can overcome obstacles (rat) by his intelligence (blessing of Lord Ganesha)

To understand a religion we should only confine ourselves to its scriptures... not the new things added against the scriptures by its few followers...

So show me in scriptures where is rat worship prescribed???? Proof???

Does all Muslims openly accepts the version of Islam as presented by 'Terrorists'... no they say Islam is a religion of peace and it does not support those terrorists... similarly WHY relate those rat worshipers to all Hindus???
