oh wow this is like a Canada style film trying to promote a fantasie that does not exist.

In the real world, Muslims are very, very racist against Jewish and the women are kept very much controlled. The Islamic families would never allow it.

It's not so much the Jewish people that aren't open minded. That is a common misconception.

Let's put it this way. you don't see a Muslim taking the innitiative to make a film like this.

I cant understand how a jew and a muslim can fall in love and pretend everything is alright. There must be a huge problem somewhere.

Yes, a huge problem. That is why we ( a multi-faith, multi-nation filmmakers, cast and crew ) made this film.

A film is an art, a kind of dream, a vision for the future, not a documentary of current tragic realities.

Anyway, this film is inspired by a true story.

During World Wars I and II, there were equally huge problems between say Germany and France. No French woman would or could marry a German.

We can always dream.

yeah true said, i believe love is colourblind and is just them people behind that destroy everything. It will take a while but will see hopefully things changed.

David & Fatima, or what? But D & F looks like a pure drama. Whereas David & Layla is a mixed genres- romance, comedy + a bit of drama.

How about probably parts of Adam Sandler's 'Don't Mess with Zohan." Coincidentally, the lovely Emanuelle Chriqui who plays the Palestinian, auditioned to play Layla well before Zohan was heard of.

E. loved the script of David & Layla, including riske parts of script where Layla causes David embarrassing hardships! Identical scenes in Zohan.
