LOL! no wonder so many ppl hate YOU! the way you break religious-beliefs down to the most simplest form so that even a 4th grader can comprehend is just UTTER BRILLIANCE! i must admit i never even thought about life and the universe in that way before, comparing it with dust bunny....well done!
Laws & theories are different, and one cannot become the other.
A theory can never be proven correct, you can become 99.99999999% sure that it is correct (as is the case with evolution), but there will always be that tiny tiny little margin for doubt.
A law is the description of a simple cause and effect action, for instance Hook's law: F = -kx (for linear elastic materials) That is an observation; you can test it again and again and the numbers will always fit that equation
2) A theory is different, in that it is much more complicated and cannot be expressed as a mathematical equation were experimentation could produce all the required numbers for both sides. A theory is an idea, a framework, a way of looking at the situation. It describes the process of how things work (where as a law describes what happens), and can be used to make predictions (the real power of a theory).
3) It works somewhat like: "If planets were formed through a protoplanetary disk (a theory), then we would expect planets to have certain properties, like a rate of spin, a range of densities, fairly regular orbits, etc, etc, etc." So astronomers study the planets, measure these properties, and then compare them to the results expected by the theory, if they match then its another feather in that theories cap. If they don't then the theory is wrong in some respect (or entirely).

>(unless of course they're proven wrong)
Or they are proven correct. They won't be theories then. They'll be laws.
no they wont.

So in summary:
Laws describe What happens.
Theories describe How and Why it happens.
