Theres only a few men every century who have the capacity to influence the world at the magnitude that Kennedy was capable of, who knows where we would be if he hadnt been assassinated. Obama may be the next powerful motivator, lets hope he doesnt share the same fate.

I loved both Kennedy & Reagan.Maybe I'm the odd one out here at this hallowed site,so beautifully put together~But the uniquely new obsession of the past century was the existential,but very real possibility that at any moment we could all be destroyed by nuclear annihilation. If we are honest, both Presidents kept us from that dreaded fate & drew us safely from the 'brink' & dark abyss of nuclear war~one through (necessary) brinksmanship & one by reaching out through detente, glasnost etc.

Yeah we took our troops out of Iraq, but we just put them in Afghanistan DX
