Yep, Rufus owns this song. He is such a talented, dynamic performer. Have you listened to any of his CDs? He is amazing. Writes all of his own songs, except for those he covers from other artists.

For the corollary to the emotive view point of this poem by LCohen, please see Sylvia Plath's 1956 poem: Black Rook in Rainy Weather, from Crossing the Water. The two best poetic interpretations of the epiphanic moment I have ever heard/seen/felt.

I've listened to them all and, to me, this is the best version of them all. He has a wonderful, clear voice and delivers the song in such a soulful, emotional way. Simply lovely. Simply perfect.
