i have a simple setup, and i have a DS-1 running as my distortion. Right after it, I have the Boss Equalizer. Im not saying this is his setup, but I have my EQ right after the distortion and I can get this solo tone. Its fucking great!

If you want proper Kurihara tone, you gotta have a fuzz. A DS-1 can get you in the territory but Kurihara is a fuzz god

putt an equalizer pedal with a distortion and you can get this sound. just experiment with it

Oh I'm sure you can, but the DS-1 is not something thats commonly used for fuzz tones.

I did exactly that, its true. Same sound. Had an old peavey-amp at the time too. Now i use vox.

Michio Kurihara's solo just makes me want to melt away into a ball of static. It's just so damn electrifying and intense, but at the same time it feels controlled... What a genius.
