I find rinsing the glass with clean water after washing will stop the liquid from fizzing..... Test it yourself..... wash two identical glasses with your normal cleaning agent, put one to drain with with out rinsing and rinse the other with luke warm water and leave both to dry. Now pen a fresh bottle of fizzy drink and see which one overspills with effervescence.
