footballers aren't funny like this anymore. there's no personalities left in the game, they all talk like robots to the cameras now.

Couldn't agree more.

Looking at players now coming off the pitch after a win, etc... there's no happiness at all in their faces, as you say they are like robots.

yeah i used to love football as a kid, what with interesting characters like vinnie jones, tony adams, eric cantona, etc, in the game. but now there's nobody.
i don't care how many stepovers these current players can do, which popstar girlfriend they're with, how realistic they can do a dive in the penalty box, or how colourful their boots are.
football, sadly, has become a bit of a joke to me now.

@buckhysen i believe my country is to blame for the lack of emotion in this beautiful game, which i feel guility calling it a game since it's so much more. i,m a american, but i,m a american wimbledon supporter (among 4 other teams, but wimbledon's the first one i chose in 1999). we americans might be passionate about sport, but it's gotten to the point where are sport's league commissioners have marketed it as entertainment, nothing more, nothing less. i,m afriad it has oozed across the pond...

@buckhysen which is sad it has. because the true hardcore footy fan is losing there voice for nothing and the money hungry fat cats at the big five clubs are raping it of everything they can. the english media is doing what the american media is currently doing, which is being bias for entertainment value and ratings over real passion and emotion of the game, thus people are afraid to show passion unless it's pre-planed because it might not be taken the right way. god forbid anybody be human....

@buckhysen so, i once again have to apologise on behalf on my country, the united states of america, where sport is like a night at the movies or a broadway play, it's for entertainment purposes only and we have poluted and diluted a sport that is run on blood, sweat, tears and guts. bless all footy fans that are not big five or palace supporters. cheers.
