There have only been two real guitar gods, and those are of course Jimi and David Gilmour.

Jimi was so great because he had the rhythm and the lead techniques mastered. Nowadays, everybody thinks being fast makes you a great guitarist. But what makes Hendrix, Clapton, SRV, Paige, etc. so great is that they knew how to fit their lead work into a groove, despite the speed.

this is completely true. the techniques have to serve the groove. you can have all the chops in the world but they are useless if you don't know how to groove with them.

I Hate when people say that Jimmy Paige is better than Hendrix cause all they herd of Hendrix is Purple Haze or somethin, there's no doubt that Hendrix is 10X better than Jimmy Paige

Its Page.
And second ... you can't say that. They both had their vision of how to play a guitar, and both of them where _masters_ in their style and for me, hendrix has some skills that no one can ever repeat, and so does Page.

Listen to live dazed and confused from song remains the same. Thats the proof. If you know what to listen to, you'll notice.

Well there was SRV.
And I agree, Jimi was the greatest, and way ahead of even most guitarists up to this point.
But there are a few kickass guitarists out there.
