  • Tramways are now the future... what if all those networks weren´t closed on the first place? A lot of money saved, and a better public transport for all...

  • Im from Bolton England and have over the last 3 years been visiting Glasgow a lot socially. Glasgow is absolutely fabulous and this film has brought a tear to my eye it is superb. I can't wait till my next visit. xx

  • This is an absolutely tremendous film, thanks for posting it. Am I right in thinking it was called "9 Dalmuir West"? If it is, I remember certain reviewers being a bit snotty about it - "filmed in the modern style, too arty" etc. Twerps. Looks like a certain amount of drink had been taken at the farewell party, don't blame 'em. Let Glasgow Flourish!

  • Fantastic posting, never thought I'd see this film again. 34 years between first and second viewing. Thanks.

  • 'There's an impending sense of loss, of desolation in the air'.

'It was one of the few amenities they could afford, and one of the few pleasant memories they retain...'

    Bit earnest and patronizing?

  • I Remember The Last Day Well As a 5yr Old. My Dad Took Me On A Tram For The Short Trip From Glasgow X To St Enoch Sq. He Told Me To Not To Forget It. 47Yrs Later It's Still Fresh In My Mind. Amazing Film Thanks For Posting It. Telstar Still Sounds Great Today.

  • What was the point in the trolly bus?

  • I can remember attending this when I was 13 years old .

    God what memories

  • This brings back wonderful memories. I lived on route 8 through Giffnock. The track was relaid past our house just a few months before the route had to close due to changes at Eastwood Toll. We had all the noise of the track laying - then the noise of it being ripped up, but the trams were wonderful!
