You should understand that every rap artist in the UK tried to sound as US as possible. Even Rodney P formaly known as (Roddy Rock) used to sound US. We the UK old school also give credit to them for being amongst the first to use UK and JA twang to stear UK artists into establishing UK hip hop sound as a brand. Mc Dizzy Hights was actually the 1st to sound UK, then The Dynamic 3. I was there so I know. Uk hip hop has had an evolution. So don't diss the real pioneers, try to understand us.
I agree with all of that. Except Derek B. Great DJ. But fake as hell with his "made up MC" bollocks. Last I heard he was buying women champagne in clubs and telling them: "I used to be Derek B". Sad. He had collossal DJ talent.
Big up westwood for living a dream and creating a scene. Also did anyone notice the young Trevor Nelson tak over from westwood on the then Pirate Kiss FM which also was the stomping ground for Jazzy B from Soul II Soul. Peace!
