Do you know how long would a conventional demolision takes to set up and execute? How do you know they have to shut down whole blocks with this method? or at least shut down more area than with conventional demolision? and how much less would the clean up from exploding and collapsing a building be? Then factor in how much safer this seems to be. mmm perhaps this is a viable alternative to conventional demolition after all? ya think?

I've seen this method in Tokyo. A 37floor bldg is now at its 20th floor.

Quietly and reserved method. Nobody notices it!

Amazing, clever and clean method. Safe enough for tenants to continue working inside while all takes place but I bet they don't let any one do that.

Good question. My thoughts too. Is there a lower level ? In the lower level expose all the supports... Substitute one steel support at time with raised jacks which are installed into ground directly below each now shortened support, remove the rest of material, lower all jacks and building on jacks in one move, then cut away supports one at time raising jack, repeat for all then lower and so on....

I'm not offended, I just couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic or not.

After rereading it I think I was wrong.
