It's not about having boats, that can't even be used as a reason. The first community in the Spratly's are Filipinos. The Philippines is the only country that have actual human community there, unlike Vietnam and China who only have soldiers in the area. And don't claim what is not yours! It's part of Palawan's and your country who claims having boats, cannot even use that in the World Court. Read WIKIPEDIA, Vietnam and China did not approve bringing this dispute in the World Court.

yeah i know, Philippines don't even have boats back than to even go and discover more land so wtf are u talking about???.. ya the Spratlys might be nearer to Philippines but ther's no Philippino there wow... since when Philippines has the right to squeeze themselves into this issue...

We challenge Vietnam to submit itself to United Nations Convention on the Laws of the Sea. Let the whole world be the judges on false claims. The Philippines is an archipelagic state and even scientists' had proven that spratly islands are part of the extended continental shelf of Palawan. Fishing in that area does not prove ownership, that does not prove anything nor being able to land and discover it prove ownership. I hope you read the UN's laws before you claim what is not yours.

it's not about fishing, from the 19th century the Nguyen Dynasty had sent Vietnamese navy and ppl to those island when it had no human mark, we came as the 1st ones so we deserve to claim it

didnt you read my post? based on the UNCLOS, it does not matter if you first landed there..... i hope you have conscience in claiming something which is not part of Vietnam...... dont you get it, it's part of the extended continental shelf of Palawan? and the Philippines as an archipelagic state can extend up to 200 nautical miles.....

i know your point, you count on the which island close to which land, well why dont you see the world in a wider range, like The okinawa and Ryukyu islands are close to China and Taiwan so why are they belonged to Japan ? Now do you see my point ? The Vietnamese were quite strong in the region at the time so we spread down to South and far to East to claim ours, sadly now the stupid communist is weak so Chinese government take advantage of us.

and who said that Vietnamese didnt come to UNCLOS to against the Chinese government from stealing those islands ? The Vietnamese did brought out the prooves from history 19th century and 'till now to define our ownership, yet did the Chinese government care ? and what UNCLOS can do ?
