Initially we're training them to deposit dropped coins they find on the ground in exchange for peanuts, but eventually we hope to be able to train them to search and rescue, or to collect garbage, or who knows!" --http://www.wireless.is/crows/

I had a friend who lived in LA near some very affluent homes. She had a pet crow who was free but slept either in her bedroom or in a bird cage that hung outside her bedroom window. Over the years it brought her thousands of dollars in jewelry, much of it stolen off peoples patio tables where they had left it while swimming in their pools. Her family returned the pieces when they could find the owners, but a lot they never did. Never leave your jewelry in the open. even in your back yard.
its a shame that most people see corvids as pests, they are remarkable creatures who wecan learn a lot from in terms of society and intergration. its funny because at my school we have a large flock of corvids (roucks i dont know how to spell there name) but the absolutly hate the seagulls who hang around there, just last week i saw one chasing a seagull in flight with one gull chasing the rook but the rest of its group joined in and chased away the gulls. they are just amazing creatures
