the reason cashes version is better is becuase he went through just as many hard times as trent. Not only that but cashes true reason for covering the song was becuase of the death of his wife. He sang with passion as a last testament to his love for her and the wrongs he commited to everyone he knew..... I personally believe the guy died from a broken heart considering the fact that he died 4 months after his wife.

I heard this song on KROQ but i didn't know the name. I was riding in my car and again it popped up, i just memorized some verses, put them in google and....WALA!! Very hunting song with so much emotion.
