WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, edubyas, you did say you were a FORMER militiaman, did you not? Obviously, you found something wrong with them if you are no longer a part of them. As far as water cannons and lynchings, those were hardly designed to advance the movements of Dr. King and Bro. Malcolm. The Minutemen, Blackwater Mercs, KKK, CCV - all these groups share the same racist, white supremacist, anti-nonwhite mentality - they are all peas of the same wretched pod.

But, let's not forget that Abe Lincoln didn't really give a damn about enslaved African peoples in this country, and the only reason he freed SOME (that's right! the emancipation proclamation DID NOT free all the slaves)of the enslaved Africans was it was a political move, not out of some genuine care and concern for his fellow African-originated members of the human race. Also, that same Constitution considered people of African descent as 3/5 of a human.

abraham lincoln was an honest abolitionist, all the slaves were eventually emancipated. you're right that northern businessmen had ulterior motives behind wanting to abolish slavery. however, sometimes you have to move history forward one step at a time, even using unlikely allies to do it. the fight against the slave owners was a glorious democratic struggle. and we could use another one like it today.

edubyas, I HARDLY think water cannons and lynchings did anything to advance what Dr. King and Bro. Malcolm were trying to bring about. AS far as the Minutemen, you did say FORMER didn't you? Obviously, if you are a FORMER anything, that means that you found something about that which you were a former participant of, and you exited it for some reason. The Minutemen, Blackwater, and other ameriKKKan militias ain't too far from the KKK, the CCV and other white nationalist racist groups.
