Not true - if you look carefully you will see that Gaultier was indicating to the referee that play should be continuous. According to the rules this is true. If the ref just ignored Gaultier, he wouldn't be doing a very professional and correct job, would he? And is it really fair on Gaultier - who made sure he is fit to play according to the letter of the rules - to allow his opponent sufficient and illegal amount of time to recover between rallies??
