Tony Hancock's Sculpture Scene From The Rebel

Although it didn't provide Hancock with the big screen breakthrough he'd hoped for, the film The Rebel had some fine comedy moments, and this is one of the best. The landlady is played by the wonde...

This film is loosely based on on one of the radio shows "Michelangelo Hancock" if you guys enjoy this film, you should search out his radio shows, very funny, with Kenneth Williams, Sid James, Bill Kerr & Hattie Jacques

It's heartbreaking to watch for any struggling artist.

What if what you are creating is in fact absolutely crap and you just can't see it? That is unfortunately precisely the truth for the vast majority. Though I can imagine some artists today producing the kind of stuff Hancock's character made and being lauded.

What a shame he didn't make more movies like this. He was so fabulous in "The Rebel" but he and it were I think ahead of their time. It hasn't dated one little bit. There was only one more solo movie. I'd love to have seen the further adventures of Anthony Hancock, rebel artist! Poor Tony.
